About this event

Established by incredible demand, Bad Jimmy's is thrilled to host a standing monthly showcase, featuring some of the most dynamic singers and songwriters of the PNW.

Escape the hustle, stay awhile, and breathe in an evening of soul music. We offer extensive covered and heated seating for this outdoor, all ages, and dog friendly affair.

Summer is playing hard to get, so in the meantime a spirit of adventure and fuzzy blankets are encouraged.

Tickets are also available at the door, via cash or Venmo.

Thank you for your support in keeping live music alive and local!

Northwest musician, Kristin Myers, has established a unique sound that is deeply rooted in the American Singer Songwriter tradition. Inspired by artists such as Arlo Guthrie, Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams and They Might Be Giants, Kristin brings a whimsical quality back to folk music that has you humming the melodies and picturing her stories in your head. Now an official Port Townsend resident, you can find Kristin busking downtown when the weather is warm, recording new songs for her Patreon, or walking around Fort Warden with her husband and rather odd looking dog, Sticks

Matney Cook

Some of her very first songwriting was overheard by neighbors as she rode her pony in a nearby pasture, singing it at the top of her lungs, age 6. Since then Matney has always had a song in her heart, and has been sharing her original tunes with audiences since 2009. Born and raised in Skagit Valley, she first cut her teeth on stage in Bellingham, but has since traveled far and wide, sharing her songs at farmers markets and dive bars around the states and even in the UK. Matney's songwriting style ranges from soulful ballads of love and heartbreak to sassy surf rock, all tinged with honkey tonk undertones. Over the years, she has also enjoyed playing in bands such as the Mudflat Walkers, Waterbear, and currently you can see her perform with Nobody's Peach.

Rio the Bear hails from the forests of Monroe, Washington. She plays in and around Seattle with a sound that has been compared to HOMESHAKE, The Postal Service, Mac Demarco and Panda Bear. Her electronic rock/pop sound verges on the avant-garde and experimental while maintaining an accessible sound. Rio has been dipping into the indie and open mic scene for several years now. She has played with a few bands here and there on either bass or guitar. However she has mostly stayed on a solitary musical pursuit since she began producing with a MicroKorg and audacity in early 2011. Her influences range from Modest Mouse and The Black Keys, to Animal Collective and MF DOOM. Rio is a proud-and-out transgender woman and wishes to use her music to further the awareness and respect of trans people all around today's world.
