Peter Donovan is an astute musical storyteller. His perceptive songs span genres and feature narratives based on both real-life and fictitious characters, written with a contemplative heart. After finding success and a dedicated fanbase with Seattle’s All The Real Girls and his side project The Rose Petals (alongside Elijah Ocean , Donovan returns in 2022 with his first proper solo album, This Better Be Good.
His previous releases spun expertly-crafted character sketches that earned plaudits from Paste Magazine, Consequence of Sound, American Songwriter, and more. With This Better Be Good, Donovan spreads his wings, combining the plaintive soul of indie rock, the heartfelt sincerity of Americana, and the stirring studio pageantry of ‘70s singer-songwriters, drawing them together to explore more intimate depths.
This Better Be Good is Donovan’s most personal effort yet; a loose concept record about the ups and downs of an ultimately doomed romance between two people. The songs are more reflective than bitter; more nostalgic than sad. It’s an album about learning and growing from lived experiences and reflecting on past failures in the interest of future successes. Donovan has managed to create an album that is sonically nostalgic and modern at once, both soul-stirring and dripping with heartache. It’s a roadmap of his past seen through fresh eyes, and a triumphant first step in this new chapter.
Soulful Americana artist Brittany Collins writes songs that are equal parts heartbreaking and hopeful. Her hauntingly powerful voice evokes imagery of the rugged mountainous landscape where she was raised and still lives in the Pacific Northwest. Her performance will hit you like a lightning bolt and leave you begging for more.
Her latest EP "Rough Sides" falling on the heels of a year that saw most live music venues shuttered, gives us a look into the psyche of the Pacific Northwest musician. While “Somebody” calls out to the duality of the human experience, “The Apple” reflects on the need to prove ourselves bigger than our roots, and “Two Worlds” harkens to the comfort of home, even when the road is calling.
“ Armed with an acoustic guitar, a voice that commands attention and a troubadours spirit, she is captivating audiences across the state”— Lisa Gilbertson
“Laced within the three songs are lyrical themes of strength with an underlying vulnerability. Maneuvering through life between the head and the heart while reaching out to break through the boundaries that keep us restrained in our daily lives. ”— Skagit Breaking
Erin McLeod is a singer/songwriter from Seattle serenading with her sad songs.
Doug Rusk is a singer-songwriter-guitarist-solo performer who lives in Woodinville. He's written hundreds of songs and plays tons of cool covers. Wherever he plays, Doug gets a great reception. During the coronavirus shutdown Doug performed a weekly Facebook Live “Happy Hour Show” 60-90 minutes, where he was getting 200+ views from a local audience. In May, Doug put out 2 original songs on YouTube within a week that both got 650+ views within several days of release.Doug has a bit of an unusual musical background as a “singer-songwriter-guitarist-solo performer” in that he was a highly successful swim coach from 1990 through 2021 and didn’t perform any music in public until 2013. At that time, as Doug continued coaching full-time (as a head coach) he started adding 1-2 nights a week of playing open mics and other music gigs. Doug has since built up a strong following the past few years. Everywhere he gets complimented on his songs, his voice, and his overall playing. In August of 2021 Doug decided to “retire” from coaching and focus full time on writing and performing his music.
